In Season Fruits and Veggies so that You Can Eat Your Heart Out

If you like to eat your heart out, why not eat fruits and veggies that will strengthen your heart? Spring is here and so are in-season fruits and vegetables that we love. Whether you choose to head over to Trader Joe's, an organic market, or one of your favorite health food stores in your area, don't miss out on these in-season fruits and veggies. Potassium - rich fruits are not only good for your heart, but they help your body cope on a hot summer day. Veggies, as you already know, also give your body a great daily boost - they help with extra energy and allow you to stay awake at work! The benefits of eating fruits and veggies go on and on, so read on to discover what is available for you to eat this spring and summer:

Strawberries - 
These delicious berries are packed full with vitamin C, which is a potent antioxidant and is also important for your immune system. Prevent diseases by eating strawberries daily and use them in your smoothie as well - they taste delicious and are excellent for your health.

Rhubarb -
Are you a fan of rhubarb? If you aren't you should be! This tart treat contains a lot of calcium and is very tasty when combined with a natural sweetener. You can find rhubarb in many health food stores, but if you're unsure whether they would carry it or not, call them first.

Asparagus -
Mmm asparagus is delicious whether eaten by itself or with some chicken if you eat meat! This veggie contains vitamin A, iron, and folate. All are great nutrients for your body. Try roasting or steaming your asparagus to make it extra delicious.

Plus, we've been told that mangoes also play a part in cancer prevention, so stock up on mangoes this spring and summer and eat these instead of sugary sweets that are bad for you!
